Services

The Area IV Technology Center provides a number of services to the Regional Offices of Education as well as the individual school districts in Area 4.

Email Hosting
Area 4 LTC provides e-mail accounts for school district and ROE personnel. We charge an annual fee of $5.00 per account.

Illinois Learning Technology Purchase Program
Statewide negotiated pricing for technology purchases on behalf of K-12 schools in Illinois.

ListServ Hosting Service
The Area IV Learning Technology Center offers the availability of a ListServ service to our constituents. A listserv is a way of bringing users together via e-mail. This is more efficient than manually setting up group settings in your address book. It also ensures that e-mail addresses are correct, and that everyone is using the same list, alleviating users that accidentally get left out of the communication.

Network (LAN/WAN) Consulting
Many school districts have us help them in designing their networks. We assist with developing product lists, and offer recommendations on what types of hardware they may require. While we may be able to tell you what kind of hardware is needed, we don’t specify brand names or vendors.

Tech Planning
To realize the benefits of technology, schools should develop a plan for integrating technology into the curriculum. By following the state template district technology plans will meet state and federal requirements, as well as serve districts in their efforts to implement sustainable programs focused on student results.

Web Hosting
The Center also hosts websites for school districts in our area.
